To use a manual wheelchair, you need to Prepare your hands by keeping your fingernails trimmed short. Grip the wheels using the metal rim intended for the hands, called a push rim. To go forwards, reach backwards and grip the wheels as far back as you can. To go backwards, reach forwards and grip the wheels, and push them backwards. To turn right, hold the right wheel still, and push the left wheel forwards.
