Recently, the Nigerian Police Force released a comprehensive guide on how to apply for a tinted glass permit in Nigeria after it was discontinued by the Inspector General of Police. The good news is that it’s been done online, it’s free, and you will only come in contact with men of the force when you go for vehicle inspection and biometric capture at your selected NPF Intelligence Department to complete your application.
Required documents for registration
- Means of identification- NIN, BVN, and TIN.
- Active email address
- Vehicle details
- Supporting documents- medical reports for those who are applying on medical grounds.

Which type of tint does the NPF approve for its request?
Note that the force only approves factory-fitted tints; any other tints will not be approved.
My advice to every car owner who has tints on his car is to get a tinted permit to avoid unnecessary stress of explaining to the men of the force.
