Available grades for the 2026 model year
The new 2026 Honda CR-V is available in seven grades, including three turbocharged trims: LX, EX, and EX-L, and four hybrid-powered trims: Sport Hybrid, the new TrailSport Hybrid, Sport-L Hybrid, and the top of the range Sport Touring Hybrid. The new hybrid electric models represent over 50% of the models, and they sit at the top of the lineup as well in terms of pricing, performance, and packages.
Interior design
For the 2026 model year, the model debuted with more standard features than ever, including improved in-car technology that includes a larger and easy-to-use 9-inch color touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and a wireless phone charger. A new 46% larger 10.2-inch full digital instrument display with user-selectable functions, such as Honda Sensing settings, is available on higher trims, including the CR-V EX-L, the new TrailSport Hybrid, Sport-L Hybrid, and Sport Touring Hybrid.
The top-of-the-range Sport Touring Hybrid is also equipped with CR-V’s first integration of Google built-in. This includes apps like Google Assistant, Google Maps, and more on Google Play for a helpful, personalized, and connected driving experience with a complimentary 3-year unlimited data plan.
Exterior design of the 2026 Honda CR-V
The exterior of the rugged SUV is equipped with a more aggressive 18-inch wheel design and a new TrailSport-exclusive Ash Green Metallic exterior color option. A new bolder look is now standard on all the CR-V hybrid models, including the new TrailSport Hybrid, with more aggressive front and rear styling, polished stainless steel exhaust finishers, and large 19-inch wheels and tires on the Sport Touring Hybrid trim.
Honda enhanced traction management at speeds up to 9 mph on all CR-V all-wheel drive models for improved off-road performance. When a difference in the rotation speed of two of the CR-V’s wheels is detected, the driving force transmitted to the two most tractive tires and the braking force applied to the slipping wheels are both increased significantly.
All Sport Touring Hybrid grades also received a new “individual” drive mode that enables the driver to customize their driving experience through individual settings for a more responsive drive and experience.
Engines, transmission, and performance
The model has two engine options, including a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine and a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine that combines with a two-motor hybrid system. The 1.5L turbocharged engine on the LX, EX, and EX-L produces 190 hp at 6000 rpm and a torque output of 179 lb-ft at 1,700 to 5,000 rpm. The new hybrid powertrain available on the Sport, TrailSport, Sport-L, and Sport Touring produces 204 hp and a combined torque output of 247 lb-ft.
Two powertrain options are also available on the 2026 model year, including a CVT on the turbocharged grades and a Two-motor hybrid system with two-stage lockup on the hybrid grades.
Drivemodes
Three drivemodes are available on the LX, EX, and EX-L, including ECON, Normal, and Snow. Hybrid grades add Sport mode to the standard mode, making it four (ECON, Normal, Sport, and Snow).
Safety and driver assistance systems on the 2026 Honda CR-V
Honda equipped all models with a range of amazing safety and driver assistance systems for improved comfort of both the occupants and other road users. This includes Honda Sensing suite safety and driver assistive technologies, the latest version of the Honda proprietary Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure, and next-generation airbag technology- all standard on all CR-V models.
This safety suite includes blind spot information (BSI), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) with Pedestrian Detection; Forward Collision Warning; Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) incorporating Lane Departure Warning (LDW); Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS); and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
A total of 10 airbags are standard across all grades, including next-generation front driver and passenger airbags. These are specifically designed to reduce head rotation in a collision, especially an oblique collision. Front occupant knee airbags, rear passenger side impact airbags, and Rear Seatbelt Reminders are also standard.
