Micheal Collins Ajereh popularly known as Don Jazzy was born on 26th November, 1982. He is a Nigerian record producer, he is the founder and the CEO of Mavin Records. Biography
Don Jazzy was born in Umuahia, Abia State on November 26, 1982 to Mr. Collins Enebeli Ajereh and Mrs. Ajereh. His father is from Isoko in Delta State, while his mother is an Igbo princess from Abia State.

His family relocated to Ajegunle, Lagos, where Don Jazzy was raised. He had his primary and secondary school education at Co-educational high school and Federal Government College Lagos respectively. At 12, he began to play bass guitar and piano, this was brought about by his interest in music since his early age. Don Jazzy studied Business Management at Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma, Edo State.
Don Jazzy had the opportunity to travel to London in 2000 when his uncle invited him to play drums for a local church over there. Subsequently, he was employed at McDonald’s as a security guard. This didn’t deter him from pursuing his music career.
Career
Fast forward to 2004, Don Jazzy collaborated with D’Banj to form Mo’ Hits Records. Two years later, they produced the albums No Long Thing and Rundown/Funk You Up. In 2008, Don Jazzy was credited with the production of The Entertainer by D’Banj. He also contributed to the production of Wande Coal’s Mushin 2 MoHits, an album that was described as one of the best albums to ever come out of Nigeria.

Don Jazzy was employed by Kanye West as a producer of Very Good Beatz. He worked with Jay-Z and Kanye West on the production of Lift Off, featuring Beyonce on the album Watch The Throne which was released on 8 August 2011.
Things took a U-turn in March 2012 when Don Jazzy and D’Banj confirmed their breakup citing artistic differences.
Mavin Records
Two months after the breakup, Don Jazzy announced a new record label, Marvin Records. In his words, he said, “I see Mavin Records being the powerhouse of music in Africa in the shortest possible time”. On May 8, 2012, the new record label released an album featuring artists signed to the label. The songs on the album included: “Amarachi”, “Forever”, “Oma Ga”, “Take Banana and Chocolate”, “YOLO” and the anthem “I’m a MAVIN”. Mavin Records signed the vocalist, Tiwa Savage. Don Jazzy built a social network platform called “Marvin League” to complement and market his label.
On 7 November 2013, Wande Coal left the record label after they had a conflict two days back.
An argument ensued between Olamide and Don Jazzy at the 2015 Headies Award. The two disagreed about who should have won the “Next Rated” award. Lil Kesh of YBNL Records lost to Reekado Banks, Ajereh’s artist. The winner of the award received a car. Apologies on both sides were posted afterward.
He signed Rema in 2019, and in 2020 he signed Ayra Starr into Mavins Record Label. The Label also announced a new artist, Magixx.
Movie appearance
Don Jazzy has appeared in Moses Inwang’s movie The Last 3 Digits in Nollywood. Other stars in the movie include Ali Baba, A.Y., Nonso Diobi, and Dr. SID.

Personal life
Don Jazzy’s marital raise so many concerns online as people were wondering if he is still single, however, he came out to clear the air about his marital life. He made it known that he got married to Michelle Jackson in 2003 but the marriage didn’t last long as they divorced two years later. He cited issues bothering his ambitious nature and his love for music led to the divorce.
