Mitsubishi releases pricing of 2021 Outlander Sport

Mitsubishi North America has announced the pricing of the 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander. The company pegged the starting price at $20,995. It offers the CUV versatility, enhanced safety features, and value in one affordable package. I will unveil the estimated price of 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport in Nigeria.

 Outlander is the MMNA’s best-selling model and was ranked in the top three in the 2020 JD Power IQS study in the small SUV class, reinforcing the vehicle’s quality and long-term reliability, as well as its value. The company leaked a teaser photo of the incoming Outlander some months ago.

  The 2021 Outlander is debuting with a new and stylish Limited Edition [LE] and a revised Black Edition [BE] trim, which enhances the sporty and rugged appearance of Outlander Sport.

   The new active safety features

All the 2021 Outlander Sport models feature the following standard safety equipment across all trim levels: Forward Collision Mitigation [FCM], Lane Departure Warning [LDW], and Automatic High Beam [AHB].

  Other standard equipments include standard rain-sensing windshield wipers, LED fog lights, auto-dimming mirror, and automatic headlights as standard equipment on the ES trim and above.

   New features in Limited Edition and Black Edition trim.

  The starting price of the new LE trim is pegged at $23,995. This trim builds on the well-equipped ES trim and adds black outside mirrors, a black grille, and black 18-inch alloy wheels, and a parking brake lever. These new upgrades add a sense of sportiness and character to the outlander Sport.

  Increased standard safety and convenience is added to the Black Edition trim, compared to the 2020 model. The BE is available in 2WD and All-Wheel Control [AWC] configurations. It also boasts of the following design enhancements for a striking and sporty appearance:

  •  Revised front and rear air dams in gloss black with red accents
  • Alloy fuel filler door
  •  Side body graphics
  •  Black outside mirrors
  • Black door handles
  • Black 18-inch wheels with red accent
  •  Large rear body spoiler
  • Black Edition exterior badging 
  • Tailgate protector trim in gloss black

The Black Edition is offered in four colors: Red Diamond, Pearl White, Black Labrador, and Sunshine Orange.

 Infotainment system

 A second generation 8.0-inch Smartphone-link Display Audio [SDA] unit with the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility is standard on all but the S and ES trim, which feature a 7-inch Display Audio System.

 Powertrain, performance, and fuel economy

2021 Mitsubishi Outlander is available with either front or Mitsubishi’s unique Super All-Wheel Control all-wheel drive. Power is provided by a standard 2.0L Mivec DOHC four-cylinder engine with 148 hp and 145 lb.ft of torque.

  The GT AWC trim features a 2.4L engine offering 168 hp and 167 lb.ft of torque.

  The 2.4L returns 23 MPG [city] and 29 MPH [highway] in its standard configurations.

 Warranty

Outlander Sport boasts one of the industry’s leading powertrain and new vehicle warranties5: a 10year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty; 5-year/60,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty; 7year/100,000-mile anti-corrosion/perforation limited warranty; and 5-year/unlimited mileage roadside assistance program.
