In today’s price review, I will be talking about the price of the Toyota Corolla in Nigeria. Its no doubt the Toyota Corolla is one of the most used Toyota models in Nigeria. Someone on Twitter said that Toyota Corolla is a Nigerian citizen.
The main reason why people prefer Toyota Corolla over other Toyota models is its fuel-efficiency, speed, and its lower cost of maintenance. It’s highly impossible to go out on the street without seeing a Toyota Corolla.
I will be writing about the history, the specifications, and the price of Toyota Corolla in Nigeria.

A brief history of Toyota Corolla
Toyota Corolla was introduced in 1966 and it was the best-selling car in the whole word by 1974. Ever since then, it still retains the position of the best-selling car in the world.
In the year 1997, Toyota Corolla surpassed the Volkswagen Beetle to become the best selling nameplate in the World, it reached the milestone of 44 million Corollas sold in over 12 generations in 2016.
The name Corolla was derived from Toyota Crown for sedans with the ‘Corolla’ which means ‘small crown’. Early models of Toyota Corolla were mostly rear-wheel drive, while later models have been front wheels drive and four-wheel drive version.
The car was first manufactured in Takaoka Plant which was built in 1966. Ever since then, various products have been used to manufacture the Toyota Corolla which includes Brazil, (Indaiatuba, São Paulo), Canada (Cambridge, Ontario), China (Tianjin), India (Bangalore), Pakistan (Karachi), South Africa (Durban), Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Turkey, and Venezuela.
In the course of my review, I will focus on reviewing the price of Toyota Corolla from the year 2000 and above. I will try as much as possible to use a clear photo of the model to illustrate so you can the different generations.

Ninth Generation [2000 – 2006]
In August 2000, the ninth generation Corolla was introduced in Japan, with edgier styling and more technology to bring the nameplate into the 21st century.
Toyota Altis followed closely following the release in mid-2001. The Altis came with a wider and longer body. The production in Japan ended in Japan in January 2007. In China, the production continues as the Corolla EX until February 2017.
This model is the model that every citizen of Nigeria knows about. It’s almost everywhere.
