Bentley has unveiled the new portfolio of Grand Tourers with the Flying Spur Speed. The Flying Spur is the company’s most luxurious sedan since the Mulsanne was discontinued in 2020. The new Speed model has been designed to provide customers with a simpler pathway to finding the right sedan that suits their requirements. The 2023 Flying Spur Speed sits above the S and it also boasts an additional 85 PS of power and 130 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 60mph in just 3.7 seconds. Engine, chassis, and performance
The all-new 2023 Bentley Flying Spur is debuting with a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W12 engine that produces 635 PS of power and torque of 900 Nm. The car can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds and 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 33 km/h.
For an improved performance, smooth and refined acceleration, quicker gearshifts, and improved fuel economy, the luxury sedan makes use of the same 8-speed ZF dual-clutch transmission as the Continental GT. Maximum speed is reached in sixth gear, with the overdrove gears (seventh and eighth) used for economic grand touring.
Torque distribution varies according to the Drive Dynamics Mode. In Comfort and Bentley Modes, the system will send up to 480 Nm of torque to the front axle to offer greater grip and driveability. In Sport mode, the system limits the available torque to the front axle to 280 Nm while maintaining a higher torque level at the rear for a more dynamic feel.
Wheels and tires
Standard on the 2023 Flying Spur Speed is the 22” wheels with finishes which include Dark Tint, Gloss Black and silver painted. Optional is the 22” sports design wheel which is also available in Gloss Black or Pale Brodgar Satin. In summary, for the 2023 model year, all wheels come in the same size which is 22″.
The exterior
The exterior features dark tint finishes on the front grilles, headlamps, and tail lamps, and signature Speed badges on the lower wing.
The interior
The cabin features a new unique colorway which includes the use of Dinamica to all of the occupant touch points. For the 2023 model year, the interior color options increased from five to 15 leather colors with Piano Black veneer as standard, and a Crown Cut Walnut, Dark Stained Burr Walnut, or Dark Fiddleback Eucalyptus as an alternative at no additional cost.
Don’t forget that the company is still retaining the Touch Screen Remote control at the rear that gives the rear occupants power over some features with just a touch of a finger.
