For the 2024 model year, Mercedes-AMG is upgrading its GLE SUV and GLE Coupe. The front now features the newly designed LED daytime running lights. Interior design
For the 2024 model year, the AMG seats are exclusively available with leather upholstery, including new colorways in Bahia Brown/Black and Macchiato Beige/Black. Also available are trim elements in High-Gloss Brown Linden Wood or MANUFAKTUR Piano Black Flowing Lines.
Driver and occupants will also enjoy more comfort and connectivity, thanks to the latest generation MBUX system.
Standard equipment
Standard equipment on the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 models includes an electric panoramic sliding sunroof, heated front seats, Adaptive Highbeam Assist, and Burmester surround sound system. For the 2024 model year, the company added new standard features, they include a selectable AMG Performance exhaust system, MBUX Augmented Reality for Navigation, Memory Package, Parking Assistance Package, and leather upholstery which comes standard with heated and ventilated front seats.
Also standard across the range is the latest AMG Performance steering wheel for easy navigation and grip. It also allows important functions and all driving modes to be controlled without the driver’s hands leaving the steering wheel. A heated steering wheel and carbon fiber design are available as an option.
The new AIR BALANCE PACKAGE, multi-contour front seats, and the heads-up display are standard on the GLE 63 SUV and GLE 63 S Coupe. Additional standard features include MBUX interior Assistant and logo projector with AMG-specific animation when the front doors are opened.
Engines, suspension, and performance
The 2024 GLE 53 SUV and GLE 53 Coupe come with an AMG-enhanced 3.0L inline six-cylinder engine which produces 429 horsepower and an increased torque of 413 lb-ft, thanks to the software update and a larger turbocharger. The engine is mated to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G automatic transmission for increased performance. It accelerates from 0 – 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds (previously 5.2 seconds).
The high-performance GLE 63 S SUV and GLE 63 S Coupe come standard with a Handcrafted AMG 4.0L V8 Biturbo engine with a power output of 603 hp and torque of 627 lb-ft. The engine is mated to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G automatic transmission. It accelerates from 0 – 60 mph in 3.7 seconds. Fine-tuning of the software for the configuration of the ESP®, electronically controlled rear-axle limited-slip differential, fully variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, and the suspension control system delivers a dynamic and superior driving experience for all models.
All AMG GLE 53 and 63 S engines are electrified utilizing an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) and a 48-volt electrical system. This system combines a starter and alternator in one powerful electric motor and is installed between the engine and the transmission. Its functions include boosting, recuperation, load point shifting, gliding, and the almost imperceptible restarting of the engine during the start/stop function. This system is also adopted on the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE models.
Exterior design
The front now features the newly redesigned LED daytime running lights. The GLE 53 is distinguished by the revised front fascia with expressly shaped side air intakes in an inspiring jet-wing design. Two new paints have been added to the color palette, they include MANUFAKTUR Alpine Grey and Twilight Blue Metallic.
Standard on the GLE 63 S Coupe is the new 22-inch forged wheel in a ten twin-spoke design, it’s available as an option for other models.
