
Acura attained a new milestone on August 17, 2023, when the company unveiled its first all-electric model- the new 2024 Acura ZDX and ZDX Type S. The high-performance Type S model debuted with an estimated power output of 500 hp for improved performance while maintaining zero emissions. The ZDX A-Spec single-motor is anticipated to receive an EPA range rating of 325 zero-emission miles. Acura unveiled its new achievement- the all-electric ZDX and ZDX Type S during the Monterey Car Week.
The all-new electrified 2024 Acura ZDX lineup will feature a single motor for a rear-wheel driver option and a dual motor for an all-wheel-drive configuration. The ZDX A-Spec is expected to cost $60,000 range. Standard on the high-performance ZDX Type S is a tuned dual-motor AWD powertrain and it’s expected to start in the $70,000 range.
Pre-sale activities have been slated to commence later this year, with deliveries slated for early 2024.

Exterior design
At first glance, you will distinguish the all-electric ZDX from its predecessor by its sleek silhouette, long wheelbase, and highly contrasting surface. Distinct design details include the evolution of Acura’s signature front fascia, with the brand’s iconic Chicane DRLs, Jewel Eye™ LED headlights, and seamless Diamond Pentagon with 3-D embossed diamond pattern and illuminated surround.

The ZDX Type S debuted in an all-new Acura color- Double Apex Blue pearl, which also was previewed on the Acura Precision EV Concept. All 2024 Acura ZDX will be available in the Type S signature Tuger Eye Pearl, also offered on Acura TLX Type S, MDX Type S, and Integra Type S.

Interior design

The interior of the all-new all-electric 2024 Acura ZDX wasn’t left out in the redesign. The driver-oriented cockpit features premium materials as well as premium features and expansive intuitive technologies, including Acura’s first integration of Google built-in or seamless on-the-go connectivity. For the 2024 model year, Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play are standard across the lineup for improved connectivity, personalization, and driving experience.

All grades feature a combined 22-inches high-definition digital screen real estate with a standard Precision Cockpit Drive Information Cluster (11 inches) and Center Information screen (11.3 inches) with an intuitive touchscreen display and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Google Maps can also estimate the charging time required to reach the destination as well as battery preconditioning which can reduce charge times.

Audio system
Bang & Olufsen luxury audio experience is standard on all 2024 ZDX, making it the first Acura model to feature the immersive audio system. The bespoke system has been engineered exclusively for the tech-rich cabin of the all-electric SUV with 18 speakers, including four in the headliner, 14 channels of amplification, and a subwoofer to deliver powerful and sophisticated sound.
Safety systems on the all-electric 2024 Acura ZDX
Standard across all 2024 Acura ZDX is the AcuraWatch, a suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies. The suite comprises of Rear Cross Traffic Braking, Blind Zone Steering Assist, and Hands-Free Cruise driver assistance technology.
The AcuraWatch 360+ system adds Hands-Free Cruise driver assistance technology to the company’s lineup. This system enables hands-free driving on up to 400,000 miles of compatible roads, helping drivers to relax when making long trips.
Also available on the AcuraWatch is the first Automatic Parking Assist system which aids in parking the car without stress. I must say the car is packed.
Electrified powertrain
The all-electric 2024 ZDX builds upon a state-of-the-art electric vehicle platform with a flexible battery architecture, a low center of gravity, and near 50/50 weight distribution. ZDX A-Spec is powered by a rear-mounted single motor producing an estimated 340 horsepower; ZDX A-Spec is also available in a dual-motor configuration with an all-wheel-drivetrain.

Standard on the high-performance ZDX Type S is the dual motor (all-wheel-drive) configuration which delivers an estimated 500 horsepower, making it the most powerful Acura SUV ever. Acura engineers tuned every element of the high-performance SUV for an improved driving experience. Amazing features of the Type S include a height-adjustable air suspension, performance-tuned adaptive dampers, and massive 15.6-inch Brembo front brakes with eye-catching 6-piston yellow calipers.
Drivers can customize the driving experience with multiple drive modes, including a Sport mode for maximum acceleration and response.
Wheels and tires
For a more rugged and high-performance look, the Type S model comes standard with 22-inch machined finished wheels, the largest ever for an Acura model. The wheels are fitted on wider 275/40ZR22 self-sealing sealing tires.

Customers who desire a more aggressive look can opt for the available high-performance summer tires package with a gloss-black wheel finish.
Battery, charging, and range
Recharging the all-electric SUV is quicker and more convenient with DC Fast Charging at rates up to 190 kW. An estimated 81 miles range can be charged in approximately 10 minutes using the DC Fast Charging. The ZDX A-Spec features a 102-kWh lithium-ion battery pack for optimal performance.
