The iPhone 15 debuted with a new 48MP Main camera which enables super-high resolution photos. It would be recalled that the 48MP made its debut in the Apple lineup on the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max in 2022. The device also introduced the next generation of portraits, making it easier to capture portraits with great detail and low-light performance.
Also new to the device is the Type-C charging port. With this, you can charge your smartphone, MacBook, and AirPods with one cable, as well as share files faster.
For the first time, the iPhone lineup is receiving its industry-first color-infused back glass with a stunning, textured material finish and a new contoured edge on the aluminum enclosure.
Display
The all-new iPhone 15 features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display which features the Dynamic Island which first debuted on the iPhone 14. iPhone 15 received updates to Dynamic Island so users can see the next direction in apps, easily control music, and also get real-time updates.
Apple iPhone 15’s Super Retina Display offers Peak HDR brightness of up to 1600 nits so HDR photos and videos can look better than ever. For improved viewing outdoors, the peak outdoor brightness can reach up to 2000 nits, which is twice as bright as the previous generation.
Design
iPhone 15 is the first smartphone from Apple smartphone to feature a color-infused back glass. The back glass is strengthened with an optimized dual-ion exchange process before being polished with nanocrystalline particles and etched to create a luxurious, texture matte finish.

New to the iPhone lineup is a new contoured edge on the aerospace-grade aluminum enclosure and a ceramic shield front cover that’s tougher than any other smartphone glass. Just like its predecessor, the device is water and dust-resistant, it is designed to have powerful sustained performance while improving ease of repair.
Camera
New to the iPhone 15 is the 48MP Main camera which was only standard on the 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. The 48MP main camera shoots sharp photos and videos while capturing fine details, with a quad-pixel sensor and 100 percent Focus Pixels for fast autofocus.

The main camera gives a new 24MP super-high resolution default, which offers incredible image quality at a practical file size. By intelligently integrating hardware and software, an additional 2x Telephoto option gives users three optical-quality zoom levels — 0.5x, 1x, 2x — for the first time on an iPhone dual-camera system.
On the iPhone 15, users can take portraits without having to switch to portrait mode. The camera software received huge updates that automatically captures depth information, and adjust focus point after taking photos. Advanced HDR rendering is now available to third-party apps, so images can look even better when shared online.
Processor
The all-new iPhone 15 runs on the super fast A16 Bionic chip which was first used on the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. it features two high-performance cores that use 20 percent less power and four high-efficiency cores, The 6-core CPU is faster than the previous generation and easily handles intensive tasks while maximizing the battery life. A new 16-core Neural Engine is capable of nearly 17 trillion operations per second, this enables faster machine learning computations for features like Live Voicemail transcriptions in iOS 17 and third-party experiences- while protecting critical privacy and security features using the in-house built Secure Enclave.
Expanded safety of users
Apple equipped all iPhone 15 series with critical safety capabilities that can assist when it matters most, including Crash Detection and Emergency SOS via satellite. This service is currently available in 14 countries and regions on the three continents.
Charging your device and sharing it with the new USB-C connector
New to the iPhone is the USB-C connection, the universally accepted standard for charging and transferring data. The new USB-C connector now allows you to charge iPhone, Mac, iPad, and the updated AirPods Pro (2nd generation) with one cable. All iPhone 15 series support MagSafe and future Qi2 chargers for wireless charging.

Connectivity
Connection is simplified on the device with the second-generation Ultra Wideband chip which enables two iPhone devices with this chip to connect three times the range as before. This improves Precision Finding for Find My Friends, so users can share their locations and find each other, even in the most crowded locations.
5G connectivity
Ever since Apple launched 5G connectivity on the iPhone 12, the company keeps improving. The iPhone 15 delivers a high-quality, superfast 5G connection and improved audio quality on phone calls.
iPhone 15 users enjoy better sound quality when they select Voice Isolation to come through loud and clear, even if they are somewhere noisy.
SIM
The era of physical SIM is gradually coming to an end. All iPhone 15 have eSIM, a more convenient and secure alternative to a physical SIM card. One major advantage of an eSIM is the fact that your phone can be tracked to its actual location even if it’s turned off.
