Chevrolet has unveiled the 2026 Corvette ZR1X, the most advanced Corvette ever and a true hypercar. Highly exclusive package
Each vehicle will display a “Limited Edition” plaque along the interior waterfall speaker, and each build will be identified with a limited-edition number.
On the exterior is a Blade Silver Matte color inspired by the Inca Silver exterior color offered on the C1 Corvette from 1957 – 1959.
The cabin of the ZR1X Quail Silver Limited Edition is available with a Sky Cool and Medium Ash Gray with Habanero accents interior, a new color scheme available on all 2026 Corvette models.
Engine, transmission, battery, and powertrain
All grades are powered by an LT7 5.5-liter V8 turbo engine generating 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb-ft of torque, and a compact electric motor on the front axle delivering 186 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque on demand. Both deliver a combined output of 1,250 horsepower, channeled to the rear wheels by an 8-speed dual clutch transmission system.
The new Corvette also comes equipped with all-wheel drive capability for a new take on performance. This model combines a high-voltage battery pack and electric motor driving the front axle with V8 propulsion turning the rear axle. No need to plug in your Corvette; it charges through regenerative efforts from the front drive unit.
Battery pack
The 1.9 kWh battery pack of the new ZR1X is strategically located within the rigid spine of the chassis to offer seamless charging as well as more downforce.
Performance
The new 2026 Corvette ZR1X attains 60 mph from 0 in just under 2seconds, and a quarter mile in under 9 seconds with trap speed over 150 mph.
Braking system
For a 1,250 hp hypercar, a robust braking system must be made available to hold the beast back, and that’s exactly what GM did. All grades of the ZR1X are equipped with the J59 braking package as standard, while optional on the ZR1 grade.
The system comprises Alcon 10-piston front and 6-piston rear calipers mated to 16.5-inch front and rear motors. The rotors are made of carbon ceramic, constructed with continuously woven carbon fiber threads.
During testing, the J59-equipped Corvettes achieved 1,9G of deceleration from 180 to 120 mph.
Chassis and tires
For the 2026 model year, the Corvette ZR1X is offered in two chassis configurations that both feature magnetic ride control, adjusting to the vehicle’s mode, driver inputs, and the road surfaces for optimal control. The standard chassis, accompanied by Michelin PS4S tires, offers a comfortable touring car on-road and a highly capable Corvette on the track. Customers who desire more performance can opt for the available ZTK Performance Package, which incorporates higher spring rates and is firmer.
Carbon Aero Package
A Carbon Aero package offering high downforce is available and can be added to the standard chassis ZR1X. This package adds dive planes, underbody strakes, a hood gurney lip over the front heat extractor, and a highly effective rear wing. It’s capable of delivering 1,200 lbs of downforce at top speed. Customers who own ZTK-equipped cars don’t have to worry about this package because it’s added as standard.

Both the driver and passenger are welcomed to the cabin with a new three-screen layout and a revised center console. The three-screen layout is now a trend among hypercar makers, as seen on the Lamborghini Fenomeno, Revuelto, and Ferrari SF90 Stradale, among others.
The revised driver-focused cockpit includes a larger 12.7-inch diagonal center console display, an expanded 14-inch diagonal driver information center, and an all-new 6.6-inch diagonal touchscreen auxiliary display to the left of the steering wheel.
For the 2026 model year, the gear selector and the drive mode selector have been redesigned and relocated. This place now houses a new wireless phone charging pad, integrated below the infotainment system, with a cover to keep the phone in place. A bigger volume knob has also been integrated into the center console display.
Chevrolet also repositioned the HVAC controls under the center display, creating a more open environment between driver and passenger and enabling space for an integrated passenger grab handle. A new USB-C port has also been added to the passenger side, placed below the grab handle.
Release date
The 2026 Corvette ZR1 will hit authorized dealerships in the fourth quarter of 2025. Production of the ZR1X Quail Silver Limited Edition is slated to commence in 2026, with deliveries starting in Q4 2026.

With $241,395, customers can buy the top-of-the-range R1X Quail Silver Limited Edition. Production is slated to begin next year.

All grades are built in America at General Motors’ Bowling Green Assembly Plant in Kentucky.
