The first-ever truck in the world was built in 1896, based on a converted horse-drawn good wagon. One of the greatest talents of inventor Gottlieb Daimler<\/a> was finding new areas of application for his engine. He also invented the motor-cycle, then went to the motorized trolley car, a motorized firefighting hose, and then, almost inevitably, to the trucks in the year 1896.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  The first truck in the world looked like a cart with an engine and without a drawbar. The engine was called \u201cPhoenix\u201d, it was a four-horsepower-strong two-cylinder engine located at the rear, with a displacement of 1.06 liters, originating from a car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  The vehicle rolled on hard iron wheels. Daimler steered the leaf-sprung front axle using a chain. Its engine was at the rear of the vehicle. The fuel consumption was approximately six liters of petrol per 100 kilometers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
