All front-wheel-drive Avalons are equipped with a 24-valve, DOHC 3.5-Liter V-6 engine that features Toyota’s D-4S fuel injection system, which combines direct injection with supplemental port fuel injectors. The engine is designed to make use of a VVT-iW (Variable Timing-intelligent Wide) system for intake, with VVT-I on the exhaust. All can be switched off to enjoy the serenity of Avalon’s serene interior.

The engine is mated to the Direct Shift Eight-speed automatic transmission for optimum performance. The transmission delivers satisfying smooth, quick-shifting for a remarkable blend of performance and refinement.
