Biography
Chibuzor Nelson Azubuike professional known by his stage name Phyno hails from Anambra State Nigeria, although he was born and raised in Enugu State. His stage name “Phyno” was crafted from the word phenomenal, which one of his friends from secondary school had given him. Back in school, he developed an interest in music production. That led him to learn how to play drums and piano throughout secondary school and created his rendition of every recording he heard.
On completion of his secondary school education, he proceeded to the Institute of Management and Technology in Enugu where he studied public administration. In 2010, he started rapping and later relocated to Lagos State to further his music career.
Two years later, he started recording his debut studio album, No Guts No Glory. The album featured other artists such as Stormrex, Omawumi, Olamide, Efa, P-Square, Timaya, Flavour N’abania, Mr Raw, M.I., Ice Prince, and Runtown. He primarily recorded it in Igbo and Nigeria. The album recorded huge success, it won numerous awards.
On 1st April 2015, a collaborative album with Olamide, titled 2 Kings was released. Four years later, Pyno announced plans to release his third studio album, Deal With It, in March 2019. In July 2021, the rapper released the single “Bia”.
