Exterior design of the Apple iPhone 18 Pro
On the outside, the iPhone 18 Pro is similar to the iPhone 17 Pro. It’s available in four exterior color options, including black, silver, glacier, and an all-new burgundy. The device measures 150 mm in length, 71.9 mm in width, 8.8 mm thick, and weighs 211 g. It’s made of a ceramic shield, a 2-protected glass front, an aluminum frame, and a combination of an aluminum and ceramic shield and a 2-protected glass back.
The device is available in eSIM and Nano SIM options. In Nigeria, the SIM option is always cheaper, and it comes with a bigger battery.
Display
At the front of the iPhone 18 Pro is a 6.3-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 3000 nits peak brightness. Its screen resolution is pegged at 1206 by 2622 pixels with a screen-to-body ratio of 89.4%. All Pro models come with Ceramic Shield glass 2 for protection. With the new iPhone 18 Pro, no need to buy a privacy screen guard because it comes with an anti-reflective coating.
Processor and operating system
The iPhone 18 Pro is equipped with the Apple A20 Pro hexa-core processor, the same as the 18 Pro Max and the iPhone Duo. This processor is built using the latest 2-nanometer process technology, featuring 50 percent more memory bandwidth than the A19 Pro. All Pro models also feature the in-house-built N1 wireless networking chip that enables Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread.
At launch, the device ran the latest iOS 27. However, many users complained about the device freezing when used. To this effect, Apple released an update to fix this, but many users said it didn’t fix it.
Heat management system
When multitasking or running heavy apps, the device will definitely get hot, and if it’s not cooled down, it will drain the battery faster than you can ever imagine; in the worst-case scenario, it might explode. For this reason, Apple added custom packaging as well as a vapor chamber. This helps dissipate more heat, thereby improving performance and longevity of the device.
Storage and RAM
The new iPhone 18 Pro is available in four storage options, including the entry 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and the 2TB option. All are mated with 12GB of RAM for smooth performance of the device even when running heavy apps. There is no SD card slot on the device; if you desire more space, you can opt for a larger storage option.
Camera system on the iPhone 18 Pro
The new iPhone 18 Pro features a new 48 MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture at the rear. Two more cameras are also available at the rear, including a 48 MP periscope telephoto and a 48 MP ultrawide lens. The rear camera setup also consists of a dual-LED dual-tone flash and a TOF 3D LiDAR scanner.
The rear camera can shoot clean photos and videos at up to 4K at 24, 25, 30, 60, 100, and 120 frames per second.
At the front is an 18 MP multi-aspect ultrawide lens that takes clean photos and videos even in low-light conditions.
More useful Dynamic Island
Advanced technologies have been employed to redesign the Dynamic Island, creating room for additional information. It can now show three live activities at once, while continuing to enable Face ID for secure unlocking of the device, authenticating purchases, and signing in to apps and much more.
Battery and charging
eSIM models are powered by a 4288 mAh battery, while Nano SIM (physical SIM) models come with a 4056 mAh battery. This brings about up to 34 hours of video playback and can charge up ot 50 percent in 15 minutes, or wirelessly in 30 minutes. It also supports 4.5W reverse wired charging. All Pro models also come with Type-C cables in the box.
