The GA-F Platform
Both the 2027 Lexus LX 600 and 700h are built on the GA-F platform, introduced in 2022. The LX 700h features a three-cross frame to accommodate the extended length and battery pack. Lexus also repositioned the spare tire in order to give room for the installation of the hybrid battery.
All grades are also equipped with a double wishbone front suspension paired with a multi-link rear suspension to attain a high level of both on-road and off-road driving experience.
Powertrain
Two distinct powertrains are available on the LX; both the LX 600 and LX 700h can tow up to 8,000 pounds.
LX 700h hybrid powertrain
The 2027 Lexus LX 700h is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 engine that combines with an electric motor to produce 457 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. Power generated is sent to the wheels by a 10-speed Direct Shift Automatic Transmission. It comes with an impressive EPA-estimated combined fuel economy of 20 MPG. To maximize space, the battery pack is located under the luggage compartment for two-row configurations, and beneath the third-row seat for three-row configurations.
All grades are also equipped with both an alternator and a starter as standard to keep the vehicle running even when the hybrid system is inoperative. In this situation, the starter enables the engine ignition, while the alternator powers the 12V auxiliary battery, allowing the vehicle to continue driving the engine.
The luxury SUV is equipped with Multi-Terrain Select to help it overcome all terrain. The hybrid battery pack is enclosed within a waterproof tray divided into upper and lower sections. This design helps prevent water ingress with a fording capacity of 27.5 inches.
LX 600
Under the hood of the 2027 Lexus LX 600 is a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 (V35A-FTS) engine that produces 409 horsepower and a maximum torque output of 479 lb-ft. The luxury SUV maintains a wide range of torque up to 3,600 rpm, this makes it easy to handle during on- and off-road driving.
Transmission
