Automobili Lamborghini has unveiled the 2021 Lamborghini Huracan STO, a road-homologated super sports car. The STO stands for Super Trofeo Omologata. Its aero balance of the car can thus fluctuate by 13%, adapting the STO to different driving styles and conditions.
A new brake cooling for highest performance
Automobili Lamborghini designed a new front brake cooling duct dedicated to cooling the ducts and calipers of the new CCM-R brakes. It works in conjunction with the cofango air-louvers that dispel hot air from the front wheelhouses.
Lightweight design
Lamborghini Huracan STO made use of carbon fiber in more than 75% of its exterior panels. The benefits from complex structures produced as a single component for increased integrity while also reducing weight by less fixing points.
It incorporates a windscreen that is 20% lighter than the Huracan Performante and features magnesium rims for the highest strength-to-weight ratio. This saves further weight over aluminum alloys with the same load factor.
At a dry weight of 1,339 kg, it reduces the Huracan’s weight by 43 kg compared to the already lightweight Huracan Performante.
Driving modes
The 2021 Lamborghini Huracan STO comes with three driving modes namely: STO, Trofeo, and Pioggia. Default STO mode is for road driving and fun on curving roads.
In Trofeo mode, all the systems are optimized for dry asphalt and the fastest lap times on the track.
Pioggia mode optimizes traction control, torque vectoring, rear-wheel steering, and the ABS on wet asphalt.
