Apple unveiled its first-ever foldable device- the iPhone Duo on 9th September 2026. Beyond being the first foldable device, it’s also Apple’s thinnest iPhone ever. Displays of the iPhone Duo
The iPhone Duo is equipped with a 7.6-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and screen resolution of 1878 by 2670 pixels. The crease was reduced to the barest minimum. For protection, the device is equipped with a Nano Texture finish. The anti-reflective coating adds a high level of privacy when outdoors.
The outer display features a 5.4-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED with 120Hz, with a screen resolution of 1398 by 2034 pixels. Ceramic Shield 2 offers premium protection, while the anti-reflective coating takes care of privacy.
Additional display features include ProMotion, Always On, and 3000 nits of peak outdoor brightness. In a release, Apple said that the device will support the use of Apple Pencil.
Touch ID and security
For easy and secure access, Apple integrated Touch ID into the side button to unlock the device when open or closed. Users can also unlock the Duo using their Apple Watch. A camera control button is also integrated into the side for swift launch of the camera app.
SIM options and water resistance
The iPhone Duo is available worldwide with eSIM only, with no physical SIM option anywhere. Your device is safe from water splashes, thanks to its IP68 dust-tight and water resistance rating.
Operating system and processor of the iPhone Duo
According to Apple, iOS 27 is tailored for the iPhone Duo. Lock Screen controls, the Dock on the Home Screen, and app navigation and controls now appear on the side to maximize vertical space for content. To cater for heavy tasks and multitasking, the device is powered by an Apple A20 Pro processor, the same as the iPhone 18 Pro and the 18 Pro Max.
Camera
At the rear of the device is a dual camera system consisting of a 48MP wide lens, a 48 MP ultrawide lens, and a dual LED dual-tone flash. The rear camera setup can take clean photos in all lighting conditions.
Selfies have been taken care of with the 12 MP wide lens at the front. When opened, there is another camera hidden beneath the screen for authentication and purchase. The foldable device unlocks camera experiences that are not possible on any other iPhone.

The iPhone Duo is available in four storage options, including 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB. For smooth performance of the device, all grades come with 12 GB of RAM.
Battery and charging
Two batteries, placed one on each side to maximize internal space, power the device. The two batteries are designed to operate as one, delivering up to 31 hours of video playback when using the inner display and 44 hours of video playback when using the outer display. When both displays are used, it offers up to 24 hours per charge.
iPhone Duo can charge up to 50 percent in 20 minutes or wirelessly charge up to 50 percent in around 30 minutes with a MagSafe or Qi2 charger. All come with USB Type-C charging only.
