Toyota Avensis is a mid-size/large family car built in Derbyshire, the United Kingdom by Toyota. The production of Toyota Avensis started in October 1997 and ended in August 2018. The model was a direct successor of the European Carina E. It was available as a four-door saloon, five-door liftback, and estate. This review will cover the price of Toyota Avensis in Nigeria.

The first generation Toyota Avensis
The first generation Toyota Avensis was launched at the end of 1997 with the nameplate Avensis. It was built at the Burnaston factory Derby while the production of the five-door Corolla also started at the British Plant.
Four engine options were available for the first generation Avensis namely: 1.6-, 1.8- and 2.0-liter petrol and a 2.0-liter turbo-diesel). Also available were three body types, saloon, hatchback, and estate.
First-generation Avensis gave solid build quality, excellent reliability, a spacious and comfortable interior, generous equipment, smooth ride quality, and good refinement. When it comes to excitement, it gives very little excitement.
Second generation Avensis
Launched in 2003, the second generation Toyota Avensis was offered in the way the driver can have full involvement and visual appeal. In October 2003, it was launched in Japan as a saloon and estate. It was very popular in Europe, so many units were seen there.
The three engine variants were carried over from the preceding generation while a new 2.4L Toyota Camry engine was added to the lineup.
In 2006, there was a facelift, some changes from the old model are the inclusion of turn signals in the side mirrors, an MP3/WMA/ASL-ready audio system, a new front bumper, and a new grille.
Fabric seats changed for the 2006 model. Navigation was also added to the model.

Third-generation Toyota Avensis
The third-generation Toyota Avensis debuted at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, it went on sale in January 2009. This generation was only available in sedan and station wagon only. Hatchback and Saloon were gone. It was designed by Toyota ED. It has a drag coefficient of Cd=0.28 for the sedan and Cd=0.29 for the wagon body.
Major new options include bi-xenon HID headlamps, Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS), and adaptive cruise control.
Seven airbags were added as standard, this includes two front-row side torso airbags, two side curtain airbags for both rows, and a driver’s knee airbag.
An active front headrest was designed to help reduce whiplash as well as brake lamps that flash under emergency braking, these features were standard
Vehicle Stability Control+ (VSC+) applies torque to the steering wheel to aid the driver in steering. A Pre-Collision System (PCS) becomes optional which includes Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Lane Keeping Assist (LKA).
The first facelift was carried out in January 2012, it included a revised front grille and modified taillamps. The changes were first shown in September 2011 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Sales commenced in January 2012.
In March 2015 at the Geneva Motor Show, another facelift was unveiled. The facelift includes a revised front grille, rearview headlamps and taillamps, and a new interior. The new engine was also introduced alongside the Toyota Safety Sense. A new 2.0 Liter engine replaced the old 1.6-liter diesel engine.
