Lexus unveiled the all-new Lexus ES at the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition in late April 2025. The eight-generation ES sedan draws design inspiration from the next-generation BEV concept, LF-ZC, marking a bold evolution in the company’s design language. The design
Lexus redesigned the new 2026 Lexus ES sedan from the ground up, delivering clean technology as well as elegance. The exterior of the new sedan took design cues from the next-generation BEV concept LF-ZC, which blends a bold presence with refined minimalism. Underneath the new Lexus ES is a battery pack, carefully placed without compromising interior comfort.
The front features a sharply defined spindle shape that extends from the hood to the bumper corners. To create a bold, grounded, and distinctive impression, the front face is defined by contrast in height between the low nose of the spindle body and horizontally oriented fenders characteristics.
On the side is a streamlined profile, enhancing shoulder contours, improving aerodynamics. The rear is characterized by the ES signature elegance with sculpted flow from the rear tires to the trunk. To create a low center of gravity stance that evokes dynamic performance, the body tapers boldly towards the rear.
All grades are also equipped with new Twin L-Signature Lamps. The rear also features a new Rear L-Signature Lamp, making it recognizable as a Lexus. Seamlessly integrated with the illuminated Lexus logo, the single light bar consolidates taillight and stoplight functions while repositioning other lighting elements to the outer edges. By placing these elements lower and farther, outward, the design emphasizes the vehicle’s wide stance and enhances the sculpted rear profile.
The cabin of the 2026 Lexus ES
The cabin of the new 2026 Lexus ES sedan wasn’t left out in the redesign. Overall length has been extended by approximately 6.5 inches and the wheelbase by 3 inches, resulting in a more spacious cabin. Customers can now enter and exit the sedan with ease as well as have a wider field of vision, thanks to the higher seating position.
North America received the Executive Package as an option for the first time, offering a more spacious and relaxing rear cabin environment. The package offers reclining rear seats with passenger side ottoman, rear outboard massaging seats, and rear seat heating and ventilation.
The cockpit of the new 2026 Lexus ES has been designed based on Lexus’ tazuna concept, featuring a driver-focused interior design. Standard cockpit features include a 12.3-inch multi-information display with a special coating for enhanced surface quality, suede finish, and red ambient lighting.
The model also debuted with the newest version of the Lexus Interface Multimedia system, delivering an unmatched user experience with a new onscreen home button and split-screen display. Additionally, Voice Assistant has been greatly improved with quicker response times.

Refined powertrains on the new ES
The new 2026 Lexus ES is offered in a range of powertrains that suit every customer’s needs. Built on the redesigned TNGA GA-K platform to accommodate both HEV and BEV powertrains. Lexus engineers significantly increased the rigidity of the front, floor, and rear to reduce body vibrations and enable sharp, intuitive steering, along with smooth acceleration and deceleration.
The new sedan is also equipped with a multi-link suspension at the rear and MacPherson strut suspension at the front, enhancing both delivery to the ground and vehicle posture control.

The AWD 2026 ES350h model is powered by the sixth-generation 2.5-liter hybrid system featuring an integrated eAxle combining power control unit and transaxle, contributing to a more compact and lightweight powertrain.
ES350e and 500e
For the 2026 model year, the new ES is also offered in two Battery Electric Vehicle models, including the ES350e front wheel drive model and the ES 500e all-wheel drive model.
Lexus positioned a large capacity battery, positioned beneath the floor to lower the center of gravity, thereby increasing the vehicle’s overall stability. The top-of-the-range ES 500e is equipped with the DIRECT4 AWD system, an intelligent all-wheel drive system that continuously adjusts torque distribution.
When the ES 350e is equipped with 19-inch wheels, it delivers a manufacturer-estimated range rating of 300 miles, quite impressive.
