Interior design of the 2027 Lexus TZ

The cabin of the all-new 2027 Lexus TZ combines luxury, comfort, and performance. Its open cabin design offers serenity and spaciousness, allowing occupants to relax irrespective of the seating position. The cabin is finished with Forged Bamboo sourced from Shikoku island to deliver unmatched comfort.

All occupants enjoy optimized seats for comfort, an expansive panoramic roof, and a slim instrument panel on the dash. All grades are fitted with sound-absorbing materials, vibration frequency offsetting elements, and aerodynamic mirrors to minimize wind noise, thereby offering a serene interior. A large cargo space is available to cater to all the occupants’ loads. Entering and exiting the luxury SUV has also been made easier and quieter with its easy-to-close function.

Lexus equipped the SUV with ambient lighting with six custom Japanese-inspired themes. For an immersive listening experience in the cabin, all grades are equipped with a Mark Levinson audio system with 21 speakers.
Next era of multimedia
The all-new TZ is equipped with cutting-edge graphics, an intuitive user interface, enhanced computing power, and AT&T 5G connectivity. All grades come with customizable widgets on the homescreen, improved “Hey Lexus” Voice Assistant, full-screen navigation on the digital gauge cluster, EV charge Management functions, and much more.

For safety and security reasons, the SUV is equipped with Drive Recorder for recording external camera footage, other multimedia features include SiriusXM with 360L, integrated streaming with Spotify, and included wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
Chassis, aerodynamics, and wheels
The 2027 Lexus TZ is built on the TNGA platform- featuring reinforced body structure for rigidity and aluminum concepts for reduced weight, torsional stiffness and handling stability.

Maneuverability at low speeds and stability speeds has been greatly improved by Dynamic Rear Steering (DRS). For improved comfort and ride handling, all grades are equipped with MacPherson strut suspension at the front and multilink suspension at the rear.
An option of 20- and 22-inch wheels is available on the model. The wheels and tires combine to provide a more pleasing driving experience.

An electronic brake system offers independent front/rear hydraulic control with coordinated regenerative braking for a natural feel.
Lexus achieved a drag coefficient of 0.27, thanks to its aerodynamic refinements, including a round body, flush door handles, aerodynamic mirrors, underbody fins, air dams, and optimized wheel designs.
Drive modes and drivetrain
For the 2027 model year, the DIRECT4 AWD system has been tuned to distribute torque between front and rear motors based on driving conditions for linear acceleration and precise cornering. For optimized handling, torque ratios from 60:40 to 0:100 (front: rear) during acceleration and 80:20 to 0:100 during cornering phases to optimize handling.
Five distinct drive modes are available on the SUV, including NORMAL, SPORT, ECO, RANGE, and REAR COMFORT. All are tailored for a specific purpose, with the REAR COMFORT coordinating Dynamic Rear Steering, brake force optimization, and drive force distribution.
Charging and power delivery capabilities
The new TZ is equipped with Lexus’s first 2-in-1 charging port- placing AC and DC connectors side by side with a compact motorized sliding cover for convenient charging in tight spaces. All North American grades come standard with the North American Charging Standard (NACS) port.

A variety of battery and charging functions are included on the model, including:
- Battery Preconditioning: Optimizes battery temperature before charging in cold conditions.
- Driving Preconditioning: Adjusts battery temperature en route to charging stations.
- Departure Time Preconditioning: Schedules preconditioning based on planned departure.
- Optimal Charging (Auto): Learns driver habits to suggest charging schedules.
- AC External Power Supply: Allows use of electrical appliances via the rear AC inlet by attaching a dedicated accessory adapter.
Exterior design of the 2027 Lexus TZ
All 2027 TZ debuted with a sleek exterior design that turns heads, featuring a spindle body. The side profile features an elongated silhouette enabled by a lower center of gravity platform that balances aerodynamics with interior spaciousness. Drag is greatly reduced by semi-flush handles.

At the front is a Twin-L Signature Lamps that combines L-shaped daytime running lights and turn signals. For even more aerodynamics, the rear roofline slopes, while still offering enough headroom for rear occupants.

An L-shaped illuminated emblem gives the SUV an unmistakable, distinctive appearance in both day and night.

Aluminum roof rails made from recycled materials help reduce environmental impact as well as weight.

Modern color and design
Six exterior color options, including the all-new Shaded Ivy, are available on the model- offering beauty, harmony with nature, and choices.
On the inside are Birch (light gray), Acorn (medium tone), and Black/Dapple Gray (monochromatic gradation) for maximum relaxation.
Safety and driver assistance systems
Safety wasn’t left out on the 2027 Lexus TZ; in fact, it’s the priority. All grades are equipped with the latest Lexus Safety System+ 4.0 (LSS+ 4.0). This comprehensive safety suite incorporates many other systems to offer airtight safety for both the occupants and other road users.
The safety suite includes Front Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Pedestrian Detection, Risk Avoidance Emergency Steer Assist, Intersection Turn Assist, Full-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) with Eco-Run Mode, and Lane Tracing Assist (LTA).
Others include Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/SA), Road Sign Assist (RSA), Automatic High Beams, and Proactive Driving Assist (PDA). Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist (LCA), Rear Pedestrian Detection, and Front Cross-Traffic Alert (FCTA) are also available on the model.
