For the 2025 model year, the Lexus GX is powered by the same powerful twin-turbocharged 3.4L V6 engine as its predecessor, delivering 349 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque with an impressive 21 MPG EPA-estimated fuel economy rating. Platform and suspension
The new 2025 Lexus GX shares the same GA-F Platform with the latest generation LX. The platform features a strong and lightweight ladder frame, increasing its body rigidity and improving on-road handling. With this platform, the GX can conquer even the most off-road adventure.

All grades are equipped with a double-wishbone front suspension system paired with a multi-link rear suspension to achieve high-level off-road driving performance. Customers who desire more comfort can also equip the SUV with the available Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS). This suspension system constantly adjusts damping forces based on changing road conditions. Electronic Power Steering (EPS) is standard across grades for easy navigation.
Off-road performance features on the 2025 Lexus GX
The new 2025 Lexus GX debuts with Full-time 4WD as standard across all grades and a one-inch suspension lift exclusive on the Overtrail and Overtrail+ grades, increasing the ground clearance to 9.84 inches.

All grades are also equipped with the Torsen limited-slip locking rear differential as standard. This evenly splits the engine’s power 50:50 to help provide exceptional control in low grip situations, thereby preventing excess wheel spin.
The top-of-the-range Overtrail and Overtrail+ are equipped with an electronically controlled locking rear differential, activated by a console-mounted switch. This splits the power evenly between the left and right rear wheels to help regulate wheel turning speeds.
The 2025 Lexus GX 550 Overtrail and Overtrail+ have also been equipped with an Electronic Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (E-KDSS) that provides a high level of balance between off-road drivability and on-road handling stability as standard.

Crawl control can be engaged when the vehicle is in low range (L4), this allows the SUV to move forward or reverse at one of the five-driver selected low-speed settings. The new GX comes with up to a 26-degree approach, 24-degree breakover, and 21-degree departure angles.
The MTS system on the other hand provides optimized driver power, hydraulic brake pressure, and suspension control. L4 has four modes including Auto, Sand, Mud, and Rock, while the H4 has five modes: Auto, Dirt, Sand, Mud, and Deep Snow. Greater visibility is offered when the Multi-Terrain Monitor which uses four cameras is engaged.
