The engine, performance, and transmission
Standard on the 2023 BMW M3 Touring is the six-cylinder in-line engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology that is developed for the Competition in the BMW M3/M4 lineup. The engine produces a maximum power output of 510 hp and a peak torque of 650 Nm. Its cooling and oil supply systems are designed to handle extremely high longitudinal and lateral dynamic forces on the track. For an emotionally arresting soundtrack, BMW used the M-specific exhaust system with electrically controlled flaps.
The engine is mated to an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic, which offers three gearshift programs and can be operated using shift paddles on the steering wheel. The M3 Touring can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds and from 0 to 200 km/h in 12.9 seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited from 250 km/h to 280 km/h.
Standard on the sedan is the 4WD, drivers can also select 4WD Sport mode via the Setup menu. The 4WD Sport gives a more intense experience of the M xDrive system’s rear-biased tuning.

The interior of the 2023 M3 Touring
The all-new 2023 M3 Touring features the BMW Curved Display fitted as standard. it provides a fresh interpretation of the cockpit design focused on providing an intense performance experience. The fully digital screen grouping is made up of a 12.3-inch information display and a control display with a screen diagonal of 14.9 inches.
Standard across all M3 Touring is the electrically adjusted M Sport seats with memory functions and seat heating plus Merino leather. M Carbon bucket seats for the driver and front passenger which offers a unique symbiosis of motorsport feel, lightweight design, sumptuous workmanship, and long-distance comfort are available as an option in the lineup. The optional carbon fiber reinforced plastic saves 9.6 kilograms over the standard M Sport seats.
On the rear, the M3 Touring comes standard with three full-size seats. The rear-seat backrest can be split 40:20:40. The car load capacity can be increased from 500 liters to a maximum of 1,510 liters by folding down individual seat sections. Automatic tailgate operation and the separately opening rear window are both standard.
Underneath the boot is another storage compartment for the luggage compartment cover and boot partition net. Optional is the anti-slips rails that rise up automatically from the boot floor. This feature prevents items and luggage from sliding around in dynamic driving situations.
Safety systems 2023 BMW M3 Touring
Standard comfort-enhancing features fitted on the BMW M3 Touring include three-zone automatic climate control, the BMW Live Cockpit Plus which BMW Maps navigation system, ambient lighting, the hi-fi speaker system, and the exterior and interior mirror package.

Standard M Drive Professional also contains the M Drift Analyser and the M Laptimer. The responses of the driver and Head-Up Display can be adjusted on the center console via the M Mode button. Three drive modes are available on the M3 Touring, they include RAOD, SPORT, and TRACK settings.
Infotainment and connectivity
The BMW M3 Touring comes standard with the latest-generation BMW iDrive vehicle experience system which offers increased digitalization. The system is based on BMW Operating System 8 and, together with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant and BMW Curved Display is designed to offer intuitive interaction between the driver and car using natural speech and touch control.
Personalization via the BMW App plus in-car use of the personal eSIM is enabled by the new BMW iDrive. Physical SIM will be obsolete in a matter of few years.
